Gandhi said, "My Life is my Message."
Since I discovered Reiki over 12 years ago, my life has changed in so many ways, and Gandhi's statement resonates deeply with me.
As you walk the Reiki path, and follow the principles of Reiki, you begin to have a much deeper understanding about the meaning and purpose of life.
Just for Today...is a key message in Reiki, and as you bring yourself to this present moment, you begin to realise that this is all there is! The past has already gone and the future has not been created.
You only have this moment, and it is what you do with this moment that determines your future.
Your own life speaks volumes about you and about your thoughts and actions.
Is your life happy, peaceful and filled with love and gratitude? Do you see the beauty in nature as you walk in the parks, sit on the beach, and watch the stars? Are you able to sit in silence and peace with yourself?
Recently I went on a 3 day retreat into nature. It was blissful to have stillness, peace and time to just be! It was also interesting to observe human nature.
The pattern that is developing is a constant need for connectivity and activity - despite the surroundings. Even on a remote, peaceful sandy beach, people were on mobile phones, connecting to I-pads, had earphones and music blasting in their ears.. some people were chatting non-stop about the smallest of issues. There is a need for constant action and the lack of silence and peace in life.
It was rare to notice someone who was totally in the moment and enjoying that moment and what it had to offer.
By contrast what did the small children want...to explore, have fun, watch, experience and learn. They were totally in the moment and having the full experience of that moment.
There was a moment of enlightenment when in the middle of the hot sunshine, the clouds opened and a tropical rain storm began......everyone ran for cover. It was the conditioned response.
Instead I went onto the beach, lifted my face to the rain and totally enjoyed the moment. It was one of those moments where you feel totally connected with the Universe and know that there is something much larger than "mankind" running the show.
Reiki brings a deeper sense of awareness and gratitude.
As a Master, I believe students learn more by watching you (and your life), than by listening to you and your words.
As a Master I believe that it is important to continue to learn and be a student of life, and to remain humble. After all the amazing gift of Universal energy is given to us and that is such an honour and a privilege to receive Reiki!
Treasure the gift and Just for today... keep Reiki in every moment of your life!
