Protecting The Eyes Fashionably With Sunglasses For The Beach

When heading for a day out on the beach, many people take care in packing the things that they need. They may take beach towels, lounge chairs, or even toys that can be played with on the sand or out in the water. One thing that beachgoers should not forget to pack in their bag is a pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses for the beach not only look stylish, but also help protect the eyes from the sun when being outside for extended periods of time.
While a fashionable pair may be selected, it is important that sunglasses are also functional. The main purpose of wearing sunglasses is to protect the eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. Exposure to UVA and UVB rays may cause longterm problems with the eyes, including the development of cataracts and cancers that can affect the eyes. Sunglasses that filter out UVA and UVB are always recommended to prevent damage. Many sunglasses are available on the market that filter out 99 or even 100 percent of these harmful rays. When selecting sunglasses, it is important to look for this feature to prevent the damage that may occur.
In addition to filtering UVA and UVB rays, sunglasses can also help prevent squinting into the sunlight. When squinting in bright light, temporary problems such as headaches can occur immediately after sun exposure. By wearing a high quality pair of sunglasses when out in the sun on the beach, these problems can be avoided.
Just because a pair of sunglasses offers full protection does not mean that a beachcomber can not still look fashionable. Many of the best designers make sure that their sunglasses meet all requirements to prevent eye damage, while keeping those wearing them looking stylish. There are many different types of sunglasses available, with different shapes and frames to fit any style. Wraparound, aviator, and oversized sunglasses are just a few of the styles that can be purchased at a variety of retailers. A consumer should try on several pairs to find a pair that fits them snugly, while also flattering the shape of their face and matching their own personal style.
When wearing sunglasses to the beach, some people may opt to wear their glasses in the water to continue to protect their eyes from the glare of the sun reflecting off of the water. Sunglass straps can be purchased for just a few dollars and are perfect when playing in the ocean. These straps attach to the ends of sunglasses and loop around the neck, making sure that they stay in place and do not get lost, even when they fall off. Using sunglass straps can make running and playing on the beach and in the sand easier without the worry of losing the sunglasses.
Wearing sunglasses while outside will help a person feel more comfortable out in the sun, while also preventing short and long term damage that can be caused by not protecting the eyes. Sunglasses are also an easy way to make a statement when matched with a person's own personal style that he or she can show off on the beach. When packing for the beach, sunglasses are one of the most important things to bring along for the trip.

Being a Reiki Master - Your Life Speaks Louder Than Your Lips!

Gandhi said, "My Life is my Message."
Since I discovered Reiki over 12 years ago, my life has changed in so many ways, and Gandhi's statement resonates deeply with me.
As you walk the Reiki path, and follow the principles of Reiki, you begin to have a much deeper understanding about the meaning and purpose of life.
Just for Today...is a key message in Reiki, and as you bring yourself to this present moment, you begin to realise that this is all there is! The past has already gone and the future has not been created.
You only have this moment, and it is what you do with this moment that determines your future.
Your own life speaks volumes about you and about your thoughts and actions.
Is your life happy, peaceful and filled with love and gratitude? Do you see the beauty in nature as you walk in the parks, sit on the beach, and watch the stars? Are you able to sit in silence and peace with yourself?
Recently I went on a 3 day retreat into nature. It was blissful to have stillness, peace and time to just be! It was also interesting to observe human nature.
The pattern that is developing is a constant need for connectivity and activity - despite the surroundings. Even on a remote, peaceful sandy beach, people were on mobile phones, connecting to I-pads, had earphones and music blasting in their ears.. some people were chatting non-stop about the smallest of issues. There is a need for constant action and the lack of silence and peace in life.
It was rare to notice someone who was totally in the moment and enjoying that moment and what it had to offer.
By contrast what did the small children want...to explore, have fun, watch, experience and learn. They were totally in the moment and having the full experience of that moment.
There was a moment of enlightenment when in the middle of the hot sunshine, the clouds opened and a tropical rain storm began......everyone ran for cover. It was the conditioned response.
Instead I went onto the beach, lifted my face to the rain and totally enjoyed the moment. It was one of those moments where you feel totally connected with the Universe and know that there is something much larger than "mankind" running the show.
Reiki brings a deeper sense of awareness and gratitude.
As a Master, I believe students learn more by watching you (and your life), than by listening to you and your words.
As a Master I believe that it is important to continue to learn and be a student of life, and to remain humble. After all the amazing gift of Universal energy is given to us and that is such an honour and a privilege to receive Reiki!
Treasure the gift and Just for today... keep Reiki in every moment of your life!
Love and gratitude

Medical Tourism in India - Top 5 Reasons for the Boom

Western shores are no longer 'greener' for people living in India who used to rush to countries such as U.S.A and U.K in the hope of finding better medical facilities.
The burgeoning Medical Tourism industry has witnessed the flow of medical tourists from the Western countries to developing nations such as India. So, what has led to emergence of this inverse trend?
Poised to be India's next big industry, the medical tourism industry in the country is growing by leaps and bounds. Ranked by many surveys as the top 5 destinations in the world, India plays host to more than 150,000 medical tourists every year. The Indian healthcare industry is expected to become a US$280 billion industry by 2020. A CII-McKinsey report that India's medical tourism sector is likely to experience an astonishing growth rate of 30% per year and the country's earnings through medical tourism would go up to $2 billion by this year.
Let's take a look at the top five reasons for India's popularity as a medical destination.
1. Cost: According to a report published in the leading magazine BusinessWorld report, a heart bypass surgery will incur an expenditure of US$144,000 in the U.S., US$25,000 in Costa Rice, US$24,000 in Thailand, US$20,000 in Mexico and US$8,500 in India. The competitive pricing of the Indian medical tourism industry is its most lucrative aspect. The heart surgery centers, dental clinics, orthopedic centers and bariatric surgery centers are offering services at a significantly lesser price as compared to America and U.K. An orthopedic surgery in Apollo hospital at New Delhi, India costs about $6300 as compared to $20,000 that it costs in the U.S. Also, dental implants cost only about $900 in Indian dental clinics as compared to around $3,500 in the U.S
2. Quality of Medical Care:The second reason for India's popularity as a medical destination is the availability of state of the art medical equipment and cutting edge technology. India has the largest number of USFDA (U.S. Food and Drugs Administration)-approved drug manufacturing units outside the U.S. The private hospitals in India, namely the chain of 'Apollo Hospitals' that runs more than 50 hospitals with over 8,500 beds in the major cities of India such as New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata and 'Max Healthcare' that runs eight medical centers in the city of New Delhi alone, have helped establish India's renown as a country that boasts of world-class medical facilities. Apollo Hospitals attract the largest numbers of international patients followed by hospitals such as Max, Fortis and Workhardt. Other popular hospitals in India include the Escorts Hospital and Research Centre, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences and Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases. The country has also adopted the Public Private Partnership (PPP) Model to provide a boost to the healthcare infrastructure in the country.
3. Wellness Tourism.India is home to wellness tourism, one of the emerging trends in the medical tourism industry. The Indian Spa industry offers a mix of traditional Ayurvedic, Chinese and Thai techniques. Medical tourists from all over the world travel to India for spa and wellness vacations and preventive health services that include DNA testing and stem-cell banking. Indian Spa industry boasts of almost 2,300 spas run by 20-25 spa centers that are spread over small and big towns, mostly concentrated in the Southern states of States of Kerala and Karnataka. The alternative healing massages of Kerala are especially popular among the tourists. Birla Kerala Vaidyashala Ayurvedic Spa Services is one of the popular spa centers in the country.
4. Exotic Location.Theenticing beauty of Taj Mahal, the pristine beaches of Goa & the soothing backwaters of Kerala, the exotic locations of Rajasthan & Jaisalmer and the spectacular scenery of Kanyakumari are some of the tourist attractions that add to the mesmerizing charm of the country. The country provides a perfect gateway to a rejuvenating holiday for the medical tourists.
5. Highly Qualified Doctors: India produces the largest number of doctors, nurses and medical technicians in the world. The country produces around 30,000 doctors and nurses each year. The British influence on the medical education and the ability to speak English fluently has helped further develop global health care in the country. Many of the doctors in India have either studied in the top medical institutions of the world or have received their training abroad. Most doctors in India are bilingual, board certified and accustomed to dealing with foreign patients.
All these reasons make India an ideal destination for those seeking an escape from the exorbitant costs of medical treatment in their own country. Not only are the low costs of various medical facilities, such as the cost of gastric sleeve in India, tempting enough for the medical tourists, but also the chance to explore this fascinating country that attracts them in hordes every year.
